LGBTQ Resources

  • The following resources provide social emotional/mental health support, education, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ youth, parents, and allies.

    Social Emotional/Mental Health:

The Trevor Project provides crisis support services for LGBTQ youth in need.  A national, 24-hour, toll free confidential suicide prevention service for LGBTQ youth.

Gender Spectrum works to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens; education, support groups, publications, resources, and more.

Care Solace is an online resource with a live 24/7 concierge meant to assist individuals in finding local mental health related programs and counseling services. Care Solace's web-based system works alongside our multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) as a tool for school staff and families to connect with community-based mental healthcare resources and providers. The proprietary care navigation system taps into a vast database of mental healthcare resources to find carefully vetted local therapists and programs in minutes.

    Family & Ally Support:

PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.

Family Acceptance Project findings are used in a wide variety of ways to help families, providers, clergy, youth, and policymakers to decrease risk and promote well-being for LGBTQ children and youth and to strengthen families.

    Student Support:

GLSEN works to ensure that LGBTQ+ students are able to learn and grow in a school environment free from bullying and harassment

GSAs are student run clubs operating in both high school and middle schools that provide support, socialization, and activism activities for LGBTQ youth.  The overarching goal is to fight against homophobia and transphobia; providing leadership and activist training for group members and encouraging them to advocate for nondiscriminatory policies and greater equality accomplishes this.

    Community Support:

The Acadami is a personal and professional development consulting agency providing direct service and connection to LGBTQ resources; professional development and equity services; Queer mentoring programs; and more.

Pomona Pride Center mission is to enhance and sustain the well-being of the LGBTQ+ and allied communities by providing vital social, emotional and support services, educational and arts programs, and advocacy.
