Ms. Rojas

Ms. Rojas is a Biology teacher at Eric Birch High School.  She grew up in the Los Angeles area and moved to the Inland Empire 5 years ago.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She also enjoys the company of her two cats, her turtle Jimmy that she has owned for 12 years, and a dwarf rabbit named Doc.  

 She believes that learning is a lifelong adventure   Self-improvement is for life.  Ms. Rojas is a former Calworks program participant.  The GAIN program and federal financial aid helped pay for her education to become a teacher.  Ms. Rojas decided to join the “Self-Initiated Participant” program, a decision that turned out to be one the most important in her life.  She began her educational journey at Cerritos Community College in Norwalk California.  She transferred to Cal State Dominguez Hills and received her bachelor’s degree in biology and teaching credential there.  Ms. Rojas continues to take college level courses and is currently a student at Riverside City college majoring in Film, Television, and Video Production.   She is also working on publishing her first book and producing a full feature film. 

Ms. Rojas is passionate about giving back to the community.  She supports charitable organizations like Compassion International.  She  strives to give her students the hands-on science experience they deserve.  She believes in paying forward all the support and encouragement she has received from people throughout her life journey, and it starts with her students and the global community.
