Baseball Captures Skyline League Title

After a few years of struggle, the Fohi Baseball program put it all together to bring home the Skyline League Championship. Coach Angel Santiago's program got the win they needed over Riverside Notre Dame to claim a share of their first League Title since 1997. Led by Senior League MVP Anthony Silva, the senior-dominated Steelers found their footing and fulfilled their promise. Sophomore OF Oscar Martinez joined Silva in hitting over .400 on the season to pace an offense that had six starters hitting above .300. Francisco Padilla led the Pitching Staff with six wins on the season.

Joining Silva with all 1st Team All-Skyline League Honors was Martinez, catcher Frank Rodriguez, and infielder/pitcher Christian Bugarin. Padilla earned a spot on the Honorable Mention list.

On top of winning league, the Steelers entered into the CIF-SS Division 7 playoffs as the #5 seed with wins over Academy of Career Exploration (Helendale) and Newbury Park Adventist Academy. Unfortunately, they ran into a buzzsaw in #1 ranked Ganesha in the quarterfinal game.
