Dr. Kimberly Moyer

 

This is Dr. Moyer’s 16th year in education. She taught at Fontana High School, Alder Middle School, and in alternative education settings. She was a teacher on assignment for Secondary ELA, served as the Assistant Principal at Sequoia Middle School and ACCESS virtual learning. She received a master’s and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and spent time providing services to clients in community mental health and private practice settings. Dr. Moyer is passionate about rigorous instructional experiences, educational technology, and wellness in schools. She believes college and career readiness begins in elementary school and that students are never too young to see long-term goals as achievable.


She is honored to serve as the Principal of Palmetto Elementary School. There have been many full-circle moments that have led her to this position, and she hopes to both honor and value the traditions of Palmetto that came before her, as well as inspire change and build a culture that values a love of learning, forward thinking, and belonging for all. She is looking forward to collaborating with students, staff, families, and the community to make Palmetto the best elementary school in Fontana.

Mr. Derek A. Cohen

This is Mr. Cohen’s 10th year in the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥. He has taught 3rd and 5th grade at Shadow Hills Elementary and was an 8th Grade Math and Science inclusion teacher at Fontana Middle School. During his time at Fontana Middle School, Mr. Cohen coached the boys' basketball team. He received a master’s degree in Digital Teaching and Learning. Mr. Cohen is passionate about making sure all students are equipped with skills to be successful in the real world, technology incorporated into the classroom, and student’s overall experience at the elementary level. Mr. Cohen is excited to work at Palmetto and looking forward to building long lasting relationships with students, staff, and families.
