• The Reading Revolution

The Almond Reading Revolution is about fostering a love of reading and a community of life-long readers. We know that reading is what will revolutionize our students' futures

  • In 2023/2024, Almond Elementary was able to get Little Free Libraries for Almond Elementary School and the community. We have installed one Little Free Library and 2 off campus around the Almond community. The goal is to have a few more for our scholars around the area. Little Free Library is a small outside structure typically shaped like a bird house and inside has books for scholars to choose from. The concept is to grab a book and leave a book in exchange. Our goal is to promote literacy and community engagement by making books freely available to everyone.  If you're interested in a Little Free Library for your community, please reach out to Almond Elementary.

  •   Almond installed the first Little Free Library off campus. Sierra Vista Estates Community welcomed the first Little Free Library. We were joined by the community for a Ribbon-Cutting ceremony. Ian Yanez cut the red ribbon, excited to be a part of this ceremony. He and other Almond scholars are looking forward to exchange and read books among their community for years to come.

We had a successful ribbon-cutting ceremony as the second location was placed and open. Connor Amaro cut the red ribbon. The students at Sunrise can not wait to read through all the new books that were left.
