Accountability

  • The department supports schools and district departments in accessing and using state and federal accountability information as well as student data from a variety of sources to make informed decisions regarding curriculum, instruction, and other student support services. In addition, the department manages all State and Federally-mandated reports submitted to the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS), the California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS), and as needed, the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights (OCR). Publicly-available data reported through these systems can be viewed on DataQuest and the California School Dashboard.

The department is also responsible for activities related to compliance with the William’s Case, which ensures that all students have equal access to quality instructional materials, safe and clean facilities, and qualified teachers. Lastly, the team ensures compliance with state-mandated accountability measures related to the California School Dashboard and provides data and support for the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Federal Program Monitoring (FPM).
